Maxwell's Masterclass: A Spectacular Finish to Keep Australia's Hopes Alive"

In a nail-biting match against India, Maxwell stepped up to the crease during the final over of the Powerplay, with Travis Head providing a solid start. The pressure mounted as Marcus Stoinis struggled, leaving Maxwell to take charge.

Having recently smashed the fastest Cricket World Cup hundred, Maxwell was on fire, scoring 42 off 22 when Stoinis departed, leaving Australia with a challenging task of 95 runs off seven overs.

In an epic turn of events, Maxwell remained unfazed, reaching his half-century with a six off Arshdeep Singh. Despite setbacks, including Tim David's dismissal, Maxwell's resilience shone through.

With 43 runs needed off the last two overs, India seemed in control. Matthew Wade's heroics in the penultimate over, including two fours and a six off Axar Patel, eased the pressure, but Australia still required 21 runs off the final over.

Wade's opening boundary set the stage for Maxwell's brilliance. The all-rounder demolished Prasidh Krishna, smashing a six and three consecutive fours, securing a stunning victory. Maxwell's record-breaking century, equaling the likes of Aaron Finch and Josh Inglis, showcased his T20 prowess.

Notably, this wasn't Maxwell's first T20I century against India, as he had previously achieved the feat in Bengaluru in 2019. The win keeps the series alive, with two T20Is remaining. Cricket enthusiasts can anticipate more thrilling action in the upcoming match on December 1 in Jaipur.
